Help The Heroes – Black Tie Ball 10th April 2010 – Orsett Hall, Grays, Essex Magic  Circle Magicians, Terry Herbert, Tim Decker and Barry Hicks (Pictured left  to right) performed close up magic at the Essex Business Network's Black  Tie Ball in aid of Help for Heroes, the charity that helps injured  serviceman.  Tim, who served in the Army for over 20 years said "It  was an honour to give up some of our time to help this very  worthy cause." Dorothea Jacobs, one of the organisers thanked the  magicians "Thanks for your assistance, the magic was fantastic and greatly  appreciated by all present. I am pleased to report that the event raised  over £8,500"

BIG THANKYOU, Lee and Chloe at the Royal Society of Arts House on the Strand

 

My wife Chloe and I got married at the Royal Society of Arts House on the Strand back in September ’09. Barry came to entertain guests at the wedding (during the usually painful bit between ceremony and dinner) and really made it fun. Although we were busy being hounded by various relatives, we were well aware that Barry was working the crowd as we kept being asked ‘wow, who’s that guy doing all the magic tricks?’. Instead of standing around awkwardly, people were keen to see what was going on as they heard shrieks of laughter and sounds of shock and awe. People have since told us it was one of the most fun weddings they have ever been to. As well as being one of the friendliest people I have met, Barry also has some amazing tricks up his sleeve. I would totally recommend him to break the ice at any function….he was an absolute hit.

I received all very positive comments from our guests and remarked how good you were. It really set the wedding on a high. You were very professional and liked the way you moved amongst the crowds, and entertained small groups.

I partially liked how you adapted from entertaining adults to then the children with the balloons making all the balloon shapes for them, all the children told their parents what fun they had too.

Dear Barry

I just wanted to extend our sincere thanks to you for entertaining guests at our wedding on 8^th June 2008 in Crondon Park, Stock, Essex.

When planning the wedding I was adamant that I wanted a magician to entertain our guests during the sometimes lengthy wait for the photographs to be completed between the service and the reception. It seemed like the perfect way to bridge the gap between the two points in the day and and take a weight of my mind, knowing that our guests would be entertained whilst we were otherwise engaged.

I must say that this decision really paid off and the feedback I received from the guests was glowing. They were thoroughly impressed with your work and spoke about it for weeks following the wedding. We also noticed how well you integrated with the crowd and were completely unintrusive: everyone felt at complete ease with your presence as you had promised, for which we are very grateful.

We also have very fond memories of the tricks you performed for us: We still have the Polaroid you took of us at the table and to this day Im not sure where that bottle of cava came from!

All in all I am really glad you were part of our day, thank you so much for providing a fantastic service. You lived up to our expectations and more.

Just wanted to drop you  a quick line thanking you again for helping to make our Xmas drinks event go as well as it did!
